The forest at Lake Paradis Domain is the kind that takes your breath away — old-growth hardwoods and conifers that have been growing for generations, undisturbed by development. Beneath the canopy, the light filters through in ways that change completely with the season: ethereal green in summer, gold and crimson in autumn, stark and luminous under winter snow.

A network of trails winds through the property, connecting the chalet to the lake, the meadow, a hidden pond, and a small canyon carved by a stream over thousands of years. The canyon is one of the domain's best-kept secrets — cool even in midsummer, its stone walls draped in fern and moss. At the property's high point, a natural viewpoint opens onto a sweeping view of the Laurentian canopy stretching to the horizon.

The forest is alive with wildlife throughout the year. Deer are common at dawn and dusk. Great horned owls call at night. In spring, migratory songbirds fill the understory. The trails are well-maintained and suited to all fitness levels — from a gentle lakeside stroll to a longer loop taking in all the major features of the property.
